Position details
United Concrete Group is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our commercial and industrial flatwork team.
The successful candidate will support concrete placement and finishing across a range of projects, including warehouses, distribution centres, commercial buildings and specialized flooring applications. This role is suited to a dependable professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, works effectively as part of a crew and maintains a strong commitment to safety.
Key responsibilities
- Place, level and finish commercial concrete surfaces
- Complete hand and machine finishing according to project requirements
- Assist with screeding, floating, edging and surface preparation
- Review elevations, specifications and finishing requirements with supervisors
- Operate finishing tools and equipment safely
- Maintain consistent attention to flatness, tolerances and finish quality
- Coordinate effectively with crew members, supervisors and other trades
- Identify and communicate potential quality or safety concerns
- Maintain an organized and safe work area
- Support other flatwork activities as required
Qualifications
- Previous commercial or industrial concrete finishing experience
- Working knowledge of concrete placement and finishing practices
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and finishing equipment
- Understanding of job-site safety procedures
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in changing site conditions
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Reliable transportation to project sites
- Ability to work early mornings, extended hours or occasional weekends when required
Experience with laser screed operations, large-scale slab placement, polished concrete or specialty flooring systems would be considered an asset.
